Confectionery brand Ferrero has said it will double the amount of cocoa it purchases from Fairtrade farmers to 40,000 metric tonnes over the next three years. Ferrero is set to spend £5 million over the next year developing a recognisable ‘personality’ for its Kinder Chocolate brand in the UK confectionery market.

The Italy-based confectionery giant sent Sara Rosso, the founder and promoter of the annual World Nutella Day (which seeks to “celebrate” the spread brand), the letter, ordering the blogger to stop the event.
Kinder Surprise, from Ferrero, is teaming up with Looney Tunes, the animated cartoon series from Warner Bros. The iconic characters will feature on Kinder Surprise packs from late January, with limited edition toys, as well as being featured on TV advertising.
