In mid 2012 Natra materialized the desire to improve its contribution to society and its recognition as a responsible company, with the approval by its board of directors of a statement on corporate social responsibility (CSR) to be integrated into the management of its cocoa and chocolate business for the coming years.
Since then, Natra has been working to establish concrete goals and a work schedule in the five areas defined by the board, which are: raw materials, environment, working conditions, community and healthy nutrition.
As one of the first steps to properly accompany the work to quantify achievements and communicate the objectives assumed by the company, Natra has recently joined the network of companies that support the Global Compact of the United Nations, a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. By doing so, business, as a primary driver of globalization, can help ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance advance in ways that benefit economies and societies everywhere.
Natra is finalizing the key lines of its commitment to CSR, with a set of goals for this first phase until 2020, that we will make public shortly to start working actively on them.
