Around 1,400 suppliers from about 70 countries will present the rich variety of confectionery and snack items in Cologne, Germany, from Jan. 27-30 at the 43rd International Sweets and Biscuits Fair (ISM). In addition to chocolate products there will be sugar confectionery, fine baked goods, snack products, ice cream and raw pastes.
ProSweets Cologne, the international supplier fair for the confectionery industry, will take place for the sixth time, and will again be held in parallel with ISM. Together these trade fairs cover the entire value chain of confectionery production — in one place and at the same time.
The breadth and size of the confectionery and snack item industry will be demonstrated by the many medium-sized and smaller companies that will be exhibiting alongside the large market-leaders. The largest portion of exhibitors (82 per cent) will come from outside Germany. Only end products destined
for the retail trade will be presented at ISM. There will be a designated area for newcomers to the industry and a new product showcase, which will offer trade purchasers a sourcing and information platform. ISM exhibitors can book display cases here to showcase their new products and innovations. In
addition, all of the products on exhibit will be given a QR code and pictured on the Internet once the trade fair begins. The Chocolate Masters event will showcase the latest trends and creations from the recipe books of famous chocolatiers. In their demonstration workshop, master praline and chocolate makers will present handmade works of art.
ISM will take place from Sunday, Jan. 27 to Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Russia is this year’s partner country. The event is organized by Koelnmesse and the International Sweets and Biscuits Fair Working Group (AISM), which is the conceptual sponsor. Click here for more information.
