A return to the hand wrapped look
Fifty years ago, the Enstrom Candies hand wrapped all its boxes of toffees, but as demand grew, other methods, including shrinkwrap, were employed to keep pace with growing volumes. While this met productivity goals, Enstrom was keen to return to the beautiful, elegant look of a hand wrapped box while fulfilling the volumes of product needed to satisfy a worldwide customer base.

Lotus Bakeries secures Mondelez rights to Dinosaurus brand
Lotus Bakeries and Nutrexpa S.L. (“Nutrexpa”) have made a successful joint bid for Galletas Artiach S.A.U. (“Artiach”). Nutrexpa will take over the shares of this Spanish biscuit manufacturer and Lotus Bakeries will acquire the intellectual property rights to the Dinosaurus children’s concept outside Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Algeria and Mexico. The transactions are conditional upon clearance from the antitrust authorities.

Cargill receives Alliance to End Hunger Partnership Award
In mid November, Cargill received the Bread for the World Alliance to End Hunger Partnership Award in New York City. Cargill was recognized for advocating for policies that let markets work and enable farmers to thrive; helping expand access to food, improving nutrition and pursuing partnerships to end hunger; and working to increase agricultural productivity and incomes while ensuring responsible land use. Over the past five years, Cargill has contributed more than $55 million to reduce hunger and improve nutrition globally.
