Nestlé Health Science, a fully owned subsidiary of Nestlé, and the pharmaceutical and healthcare group Chi-Med, have agreed to form a 50/50 joint venture to be named Nutrition Science Partners Limited (NSP).

Lotus Bakeries and Nutrexpa S.L. (“Nutrexpa”) have made a successful joint bid for Galletas Artiach S.A.U. (“Artiach”). Nutrexpa will take over the shares of this Spanish biscuit manufacturer and Lotus Bakeries will acquire the intellectual property rights to the Dinosaurus children’s concept outside Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Algeria and Mexico. The transactions are conditional upon clearance from the antitrust authorities.

Mondel?z International has unveiled ‘Cocoa Life’ – the company’s largest, most comprehensive cocoa sustainability effort to date. As the world’s largest chocolate company, it will invest $400 million (€313m) over the next ten years to improve the livelihoods and living conditions of more 200,000 cocoa farmers and about one million people in cocoa farming communities. Cocoa Life will bring a $100m (€78.2m) new investment to Côte d’Ivoire, the world’s largest cocoa producing country, to help 75,000 farmers double their productivity.
