Spooner Industries has joined The Federation of Bakers as a new associate member, extending the number to 13 associate members in total.

Spooner Industries, established in 1932 by Mr William Wycliffe Spooner, is a leading global innovator and manufacturer serving a range of global markets. The main industries Spooner provides industrial processing equipment to are food / baking, coil coating / galvanising, paper manufacture, converting, non-wovens and pharmaceuticals. Spooner Industries’ manufacturing headquarters is based in the UK; however, Spooner agents and representatives are based across the globe to provide a local point of contact for every market.

Gordon Polson, director of the Federation of Bakers, says: “We are delighted to welcome Spooner Industries, as the newest associate member of The Federation of Bakers. Membership numbers continue to build and we become a bigger collective who can speak for a large proportion of the plant bakery industry and make sure that their voice is heard.”

The Federation of Bakers supplies over 80% of the nation’s bread with nine member companies running 47 bakeries in the UK. It also counts among its members current associates AB Mauri, ADM Milling, Baker Perkins, British Bakels, CCFRA, Cereform, Edme, Fuerst Day Lawson, GB Ingredients, Lesaffre Group, Puratos and Zeelandia.
