The question of whether vitamin E prevents or promotes cancer has been widely debated; however, new research published in the journal Cancer Prevention Research suggests two forms of vitamin E—gamma and delta-tocopherols—found in soybean, canola, corn oils and nuts may help prevent colon, lung, breast and prostate cancers.

Nestlé reports 7.2% growth

In the first three months of 2012, sales increased by 5.6% to CHF 21.4 billion (€17.8bn). Organic growth was 7.2%, composed of 2.8% real internal growth and pricing of 4.4%. Acquisitions net of divestitures, added 3% to sales, whilst foreign exchange had a negative impact of 4.6%.

Chinese export sales cap busy week in grains

Earlier this week, US exporters sold healthy amounts of corn and soybeans to China, as well as other countries. On April 25, the USDA reported that private exporters sold 420,000 tonnes of corn to unknown destinations, believed to be China, for the 2012-2013 marketing year.
